Audition Overview:
Puppetry Work
Objective: To assess the actor’s comfort and skill in using puppets.
During the audition actors will be provided with puppets to use while performing sides, demonstrating their ability to embody the characters and convey the story’s emotions and actions. They will need to bring the puppets to life, showcasing their ability to create distinct characters and maintain engaging interactions with the audience.
Three-Minute Fairy Tale Improv Exercise
Objective: To gauge the actor’s improvisational skills and creativity.
Details: Actors will be asked to improvise a 3-minute fairy tale based on a prompt provided on the spot. This exercise will help assess their quick thinking, storytelling ability, and capacity to engage and entertain young children.
Additional Information
Roles will be divided amongst the troupe members based on actor preference and availability. Five, one and a half hour rehearsals will be scheduled within the four weeks listed under each show title. Availability will be requested at a later date. It is NOT the expectation that you will be available for every title.
